Ladysmith
Sitting on the 49th parallel, Ladysmith's hillside geography offers incredible views of Stuart Channel.
While the waterfront is Ladysmith's premier attraction, the restored heritage buildings along First Avenue
tell the history of each of the restored heritage buildings.
Art of the Avenue takes place in August in downtown Ladysmith with many artists and artisans
participating as well as performing arts featuring local entertainers.
Pick up a brochure at the Chamber Info Centre of Ladysmith Artists and Artisans and tour their studios.
Drop by one of several first class antique shops.
Visit the Amphitheatre at Transfer Beach Park, the only open-air amphitheatre on Vancouver Island that
holds over 1,000 people. Transfer Beach park is also an ideal place for swimming, picnicking or to
launch a kayak into the water and explore the harbour and islands.
Take a walk along the Holland Creek Trail's 8 km route, part of the world famous Trans Canada Trail.
The peaceful waters of Stuart Channel are perfect for cruising or kayaking and Quennell Lake, known for
trout and bass is ideal for fishing and canoeing.
