Comox
A bustling seaside community with a wide range of shops, restaurants and parks. The Comox
harbour features a boardwalk and great walkways.
Go for a swim and relax on the sandy beach at Goose Spit where the sun-warmed sand keeps the
water temperatures warm in the summer. This is also a popular spot for windsurfing with
relatively low summer winds for beginners and higher winds of up to 40 knots in the winter.
Comox Air Force Museum honours the heritage and traditions of Canada's air force with a very
large collection of aviation memorabilia and artifacts. An outdoor airpark displays aircraft of
special interest and fighters such as the McDonnell CF-101B Voodoo, the multi-engined
Douglas Dakota and a Piasecki H-21 Flying Banana helicopter.
The historic Filberg Lodge & Park, a seaside heritage estate, hosts the annual Arts and Crafts
Festival on B.C. Day long weekend, featuring 140 of B.C.'s finest artisans, music, children's
entertainment and delicious food. Built in the 1930's, this seaside estate is open to the public for
tours. Another event at this time is the Comox Nautical Days celebrating the community's
nautical heritage.
